Sapphire Point Overlook

Overview

Sapphire Point is one of the most popular spots to get married around Breckenridge and Dillon. You must reserve a 2-hour time slot, which is an easy process. The overlook has great views of the mountains and the lake below. The site is also very accessible with a short, easy walk.  

Location

The overlook is located about 20 minutes from Dillon, Colorado and about 1.5 hours from Denver. Here's the location on a map.

Permit Requirements

Yes! You must reserve the overlook to have your ceremony Sapphire Point. Here is the link for the permits. Permits usually become available about 6 months in advance. 

Pets

Pets are permitted at Sapphire Point, but must be on a leash. The overlook is open to the public regardless of reservation, so it is likely that you will encounter other people and potentially other dogs. 

Weather and Seasons

Sapphire Point is open and accessible year-round. In the winter, the trail may have snow or ice. 

Accessibility

The overlook is super accessible and only requires a short walk on a flat, crushed gravel trail. 

Parking

There is a parking lot at the overlook, but it's not a huge lot. 

Other Notes

  • The capacity for the overlook is 35 people including the couple and any vendors. 
  • Sapphire Point pairs well with Loveland Pass and the lake near Loveland Pass. It works really well to have your ceremony at Sapphire Point then go to Loveland Pass for photos or private vows.
